Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krystof Mckay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes to the cage accompanied by Tuesday's Gone. Krystof Mckay has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tommy James!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Krystof Mckay!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mckay connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed James momentarily.
Mckay has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as James is landing a low percentage of strikes.
James misses with a looping left.
James cracks Mckay with a good jab.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mckay.

Mckay has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mckay stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

James breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mckay on the wrong end of a nice jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mckay with a poor takedown
and James counters with a slapping leg kick.
Mckay has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Mckay there as he acknowledges the shot.
Mckay misses with a hook
and James connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
James throws a shot to the body.
Mckay rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and James counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Mckay down! James is looking to finish but Mckay is intelligently defending himself.


Mckay is rocked!
James working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mckay's head.
Mckay is still in real trouble! Can James finish him?
James is looking to stand up but Mckay won't let him.
James lands a couple of decent looking shots.
James would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mckay has an active guard here but James has managed to pass into half guard.
Mckay seems to have recovered his senses.

James seems to be working for a kimura but Mckay defends the submission attempt.
Mckay tries to roll over but James keeps him under control.
James works his way into full mount!
James takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
James looking to finish Mckay with some ground and pound. This is bad for Mckay!

James putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Mckay working to try and regain half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
James content just to control the position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mckay is wriggling around trying to escape.
James can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mckay is looking to escape.
Mckay tries to get back to half guard but can't.
James looking to control but Mckay is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Mckay is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mckay is squirming around, avoiding James's attempts to control the action.
Mckay is looking to improve his position but James isn't that keen on the idea.
James scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Mckay can't escape the position.
James tries to control but Mckay wriggling away.
James lands a nice shot to the head.
Mckay wants to hold on but James pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

James with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
James looking to control but Mckay is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mckay sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Mckay is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but James pulls his head out easily.
James is trying to control the action in half guard but Mckay is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
James wants to stand but Mckay has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mckay is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute James jumps into side control!
James trying to control the position but Mckay is working away.
Mckay is trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tommy James dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Mckay misses with a wild combination.
James moves out of range of the strikes.
Mckay scores with a jab to the head.
James moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like Krystof Mckay has been cut.
James scores with a sloppy right hand. Mckay should have avoided that one.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mckay has closed the distance and engaged James in a clinch.
Mckay wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

James breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mckay takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Mckay misses with a hook. James ducked under it nicely.
James rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mckay moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
James circles away from the clinch attempt
and James makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Mckay tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mckay tries to close the distance and clinch but James swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
James cracks Mckay with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
James blocks a jab.
Mckay walks into a jab.
James lands with a right and another and another! Mckay is in big trouble! James lands again and this time it's lights out for Mckay! A quality knockout there for James.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Tommy James!
Tommy James retains his light heavyweight title!
Tommy James took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'I want to thank all you fans for coming out tonight, Kaiser and Backyard Fighting for helping me look so good, my team at Hey Steve's Fight Shack, all of my loved ones back home and Corwin Anstey for letting me fight here in the CEFC!! Thank you!'.
In defeat, Krystof Mckay stepped up to the mic, saying 'I've had quite a few shots to win a title now, none of them successful. I think I may retire at the end of my contract. '.
