Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marco Medina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patryck Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Mendes or perhaps it was just good defense by Medina which made him look bad.
Mendes keeps the fight on the outside.
Medina misses with a low kick.
Mendes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mendes lands in his opponent's guard.
Medina is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mendes defends well.
Medina working a defensive guard but Mendes manages to pass into side control anyway.
Mendes tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Mendes prevents Medina from standing back up.
Mendes is trying to control the action in half guard but Medina is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Mendes is nestled in close to Medina, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Mendes maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Medina could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Mendes has cracked it and Medina is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Mendes!
