Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jesse Bashor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 31 - 0, fighting out of New York, Franco Colombo!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Kavanagh and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Bashor.
Colombo tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Bashor counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Bashor pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Colombo is keeping the position for now.
Bashor throwing strikes but missing.
Colombo looking to control.
Colombo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Bashor controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bashor sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Colombo's guard.

Bashor is looking for a kimura but Colombo is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bashor to get the leverage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bashor performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Bashor looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Bashor is controlling the pace.
Colombo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bashor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jesse Bashor.
Bashor avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've been hearing reports that Bashor has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Colombo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Bashor thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bashor advances to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bashor in particular looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bashor seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Colombo for as long as he can get away with.
Bashor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bashor is trying for a kimura here. Colombo looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Bashor wins by kimura!
