Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Voss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Voss comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Here comes the boom! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Chris Johnson has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott Voss!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Voss to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Voss circles away.
Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Voss.
Chris Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Voss.
Nice takedown defense from Voss. No joy for Johnson on that attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Voss changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Voss manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Johnson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Voss throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott Voss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Voss fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Voss shoots in looking for a takedown but Johnson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Voss's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Voss got a little sloppy there for a moment and Johnson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Voss has managed to get both his arms back between Johnson's legs - danger averted.
Voss is pushing down on Johnson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Johnson is fighting to maintain full guard but Voss has managed to sneak the leg through.
Voss frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Voss scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Johnson?

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Johnson is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Voss locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Johnson is forced to tap!
