Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kerry Sibley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Montros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sibley comes to the cage accompanied by Beautifull people. Montros has chosen Eye of the Tiger as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kerry Sibley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Montros!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Montros closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sibley to the mat! Sibley manages to get full guard.
Montros must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Sibley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Montros manages to get himself to full guard.
Sibley trying to control the position from guard on top but Montros is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Montros wants to stand and escape but Sibley is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sibley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Montros swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Montros is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Sibley manages to break the clinch.

and Montros holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Sibley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Montros pushes Sibley off looking to stand but Sibley dives back in and keeps control.

Sibley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Montros gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Montros stuns Sibley with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Sibley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Montros tries to avoid it but Sibley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Montros to the ground. Montros escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Montros counters with a series of strikes. Sibley will be more careful next time no doubt.
Montros connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Montros is trying to maintain a safe position but Sibley gets an underhook and turns Montros into the cage.

Montros lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Montros fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sibley, pushing him back against the cage.
Montros has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sibley is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Sibley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Montros counters with a left to the body.

Montros shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sibley's guard.

Montros rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sibley moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Montros tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sibley paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Sibley has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Montros uses from the top position.

Sibley decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Sibley is nestled in close to Montros, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Montros holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

I would just about give that final round to Jason Montros.
Well Montros has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
