Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joey Mcgreggor!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgreggor throws a head kick that misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wilson.
Mcgreggor tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wilson shoots in for a double leg but Mcgreggor sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mcgreggor throws a series of punches but Wilson moves out of range.
Wilson wants to clinch up but Mcgreggor keeps it at a distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mcgreggor prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Al Wilson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wilson is trying to pull guard but Mcgreggor has him pressed against the cage.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mcgreggor has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Mcgreggor slaps away a takedown attempt from Wilson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Wilson is breathing heavily.
Mcgreggor lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Mcgreggor.

Al Wilson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wilson shoots in looking for a takedown. Mcgreggor tries to sprawl out of it but Wilson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mcgreggor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mcgreggor feints a jab promting Wilson to slip. Mcgreggor then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Wilson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Mcgreggor clobbers Wilson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Joey Mcgreggor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wilson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Mcgreggor.
Mcgreggor tries to score with a low kick but Wilson moves his leg out of the way.
Mcgreggor throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wilson tries for a takedown but Mcgreggor sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Wilson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mcgreggor defends it nicely.

Wilson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mcgreggor throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mcgreggor throws a combination. Wilson tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Mcgreggor scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Wilson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joey Mcgreggor dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Mcgreggor keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Wilson fails with the takedown.
Nice sprawl there from Mcgreggor as Wilson shoots in.

Mcgreggor throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mcgreggor.
Al Wilson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Mcgreggor wants to get back to his feet.

Mcgreggor pushes Wilson off looking to stand but Wilson dives back in and keeps control.
Wilson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Wilson stops Mcgreggor from getting back to his feet.
Mcgreggor on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Wilson slips a nice elbow through Mcgreggor's hands, connecting with Mcgreggor's forehead.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wilson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mcgreggor's head.
Mcgreggor is staying active underneath Wilson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Wilson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Wilson trying to control the action but Mcgreggor is working from the bottom.
Wilson winds up and cracks Mcgreggor with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Wilson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Wilson is trying to control. Mcgreggor wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Wilson thows a huge punch but Mcgreggor dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wilson stops Mcgreggor from getting back to his feet.
Wilson looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Wilson not doing much here.

Wilson has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Mcgreggor defend it? Wilson steps over the head and cranks it - Mcgreggor is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Wilson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Al Wilson!
Al Wilson was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
