Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genghis Ron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ron is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Carmina Burana O Fortuna. Genghis Ron has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Nathan Silver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Genghis Ron!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ron connects with a crisp jab.


It looks like Nathan Silver has been cut.
Silver steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ron.
Ron throws a looping overhand right but Silver ducks down to avoid it.
Silver misses with a hook. Ron ducked under it nicely.
Silver takes a jab right on the kisser.
Ron tries to close the distance and clinch up but Silver swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ron throws an overhand right that lands on Silver's shoulder, as Silver tries to avoid the shot.

Ron swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ron tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Silver defends well and Ron ends up having to push Silver into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Silver escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Silver connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ron momentarily.
Ron bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Silver looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Ron ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Ron misses with a straight right.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ron has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Ron throws out a powerful jab.
Ron throws a hook but Silver blocks it.
Silver leaves Ron with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Silver misses with a lunging right hand
and Ron counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A combination from Silver does no damage.
Ron uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Silver.
Silver jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Ron misses with a wild body shot.
Silver misses with a two punch combination.
Ron shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silver sprawls well. Silver wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ron gets slowly back to his feet.
Nathan Silver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Genghis Ron.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

and Ron counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Ron gets a double leg takedown into Silver's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Ron stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Genghis Ron seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Ron throws a lazy uppercut
and Silver counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ron takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Silver ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ron moves away.
Silver fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Ron misses with a hook
and Silver counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Silver uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ron.
Ron moves out of range as Silver strikes.
Silver tries to land a front kick but Ron steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

The fight stays on the outside here - Ron looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ron throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Silver misses with a body shot.
Silver throws a jab but it's blocked by Ron.

Ron fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Silver manages to avoid it.
Silver throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A lazy left from Ron finds it's target.
Silver throws a right and a left that both miss.
Silver rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ron moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ron tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silver paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Silver ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ron moves away.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Nathan Silver.
I think Silver has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
