Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Scotty Carlson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Haytham Kamlian!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlson throws a sloppy head kick and Kamlian moves out of range easily.
Carlson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kamlian pinned against the cage. Kamlian gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Carlson has a takedown stuffed.

Carlson moves into the clinch successfully.
Carlson really is a fat lump.
Kamlian is trying to pull guard but Carlson has him pressed against the cage.

Carlson manages to break the clinch.
Carlson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Carlson clinches up against the cage.

Carlson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Kamlian tries to pull guard but Carlson won't allow it.
Kamlian has Carlson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Carlson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Scotty Carlson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Haytham Kamlian.

Kamlian jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Carlson walks away with a smile on his face. Kamlian gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Carlson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kamlian's waist but Kamlian gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Carlson off to one side.

Kamlian is trying to pull guard but Carlson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Carlson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Carlson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Carlson pushes Kamlian up against the cage in a clinch.

Carlson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Carlson lands with an uppercut that bounces Kamlian off the cage and back into range.

Carlson gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Carlson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carlson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Carlson fails with the takedown

and Kamlian counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Kamlian passes Carlson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Kamlian looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kamlian seems to be working for a kimura but Carlson defends the submission attempt.

Kamlian is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Kamlian is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carlson is just riding it out for now. Kamlian eventually gives up the hold.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kamlian wants to work for an arm triangle but Carlson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Haytham Kamlian will probably get the nod.
That's time! Carlson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Carlson forces Kamlian back against the cage and clinches.
Carlson is pressed up against the cage. Kamlian has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Carlson down to the mat. Carlson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Carlson moves into the clinch.
Carlson gets underhooks to prevent Kamlian's takedown attempt.

Kamlian tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Carlson smiles and moves away.
Scotty Carlson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Haytham Kamlian.
Kamlian moves out of range of the body kick from Carlson.
Carlson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kamlian takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Kamlian avoids the body shot from Carlson.
Carlson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kamlian as he jumps to the side.

Kamlian swats away the attempt to clinch by Carlson.
Carlson moves in looking to clinch but Kamlian pushes him off.
Horrible takedown by Carlson or perhaps it was just good defense by Kamlian which made him look bad.
Carlson shoots in but no luck this time.
Carlson dives in for a single leg takedown but Kamlian sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Carlson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kamlian leaves Carlson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Carlson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Carlson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kamlian, pushing him back against the cage.
Carlson missing with knees to the body.
Kamlian keeps control of Carlson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Kamlian tries to pull guard but Carlson holds him up against the cage and eventually Kamlian drops back down to his feet.
Carlson is trying to drag Kamlian to the mat but Kamlian just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kamlian jumps guard but Carlson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Kamlian tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Carlson smiles and moves away.
Carlson throws a right and a left that Kamlian avoids nicely.

Carlson clinches up with Kamlian and pushes him back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scotty Carlson dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Carlson throws the kick towards the body but Kamlian avoids it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Carlson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Carlson shoots in but no luck this time.
Scotty Carlson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kamlian wants to pass the guard but Carlson is keeping the position.

Kamlian drops back looking for a leg! Carlson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Carlson manages to kick Kamlian off! Kamlian jumps back into Carlson's guard.

Carlson wants to control from the top but Kamlian keeps moving.
Kamlian preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Carlson wants to pass the guard but Kamlian is keeping the position.
Carlson throws an elbow that misses. Kamlian uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Carlson's guard. Nice move by Kamlian!

Kamlian drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Carlson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kamlian has Carlson in his guard.

Carlson wants to get up but he can't break Kamlian's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Carlson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Carlson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kamlian on the ground.
Kamlian has a closed guard, preventing Carlson from standing up.

Kamlian has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Carlson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Kamlian has tightened it up now! Carlson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Haytham Kamlian!
