Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Donnie O Brien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshida Kotaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). O Brien comes to the cage accompanied by Rocky Road to Dublin. The crowd seem to be enjoying Kotaro's choice of entrance music: Dance Yourself Clean. Donnie O Brien has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
36 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Donnie O Brien ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yoshida Kotaro! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by O Brien . The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Kotaro gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Kotaro is trying to stand up here but O Brien is controlling him well. Kotaro is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. O Brien wants to control but Kotaro is keeping him busy. O Brien controlling the pace. Kotaro wants to get back to full guard. O Brien wants to take a breather but Kotaro is having none of it. O Brien is nestled in close to Kotaro, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. O Brien is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. O Brien looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kotaro with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. O Brien lands a nice short elbow. Kotaro is looking to control O Brien 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kotaro avoid being mounted? Kotaro wants to improve his position but O Brien is controlling well.
Kotaro keeps trying to improve his position. O Brien slows the pace down in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. O Brien seems to be looking for submissions.
O Brien is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Kotaro is trying to stand up here but O Brien is controlling him well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. O Brien is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kotaro wants to control but O Brien passes into side.
Kotaro is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Kotaro is letting O Brien control him for a moment. Kotaro wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A lull in the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. O Brien throws an elbow but Kotaro slips to the side and avoids it well. Kotaro sneaks back into half guard. Kotaro manages to get to full guard.
Kotaro wants to sweep but no luck. Kotaro can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as O Brien controls the pace. O Brien preventing the sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. O Brien passes easily into side control. Nice work. O Brien is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kotaro knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. O Brien has knee on belly and moves into mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. O Brien controlling from mount. O Brien wants to finish this one by submission but Kotaro is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from O Brien . And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Donnie O Brien dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
O Brien scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. O Brien tries for a kimura but Kotaro is defending well. Kotaro is looking to regain half guard here but O Brien keeps moving and retains side control. Donnie O Brien overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. A lull in the action here as O Brien stalls from top position. O Brien wants to control but Kotaro is keeping him busy. O Brien is working Kotaro over with some ground and pound from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kotaro is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Kotaro is looking to reverse the position. O Brien tries for a kimura but Kotaro is defending well. O Brien misses with the ground and pound. O Brien wants to control but Kotaro is keeping him busy. Kotaro being controlled for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. O Brien trying to control the position but Kotaro is working away. Kotaro looking for a sweep but O Brien has passed into full mount! Oh no! O Brien with shots to the head and body - Kotaro looks very uncomfortable down there. O Brien lands a heavy elbow. Kotaro is in all sorts of trouble here.
Kotaro is squirming around, avoiding O Brien 's attempts to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kotaro bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Kotaro must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. O Brien trying to control the position.
Kotaro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. O Brien swivels though and keeps the full guard. O Brien pulls Kotaro in to control the position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. O Brien is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kotaro wants to stand but O Brien has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Donnie O Brien wasn't doing enough on the ground. Nice cross by O Brien . Yoshida Kotaro is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. O Brien changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kotaro tries to avoid it but O Brien manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kotaro to the ground. Kotaro escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. O Brien looks to land a combination but Kotaro avoids it well. O Brien gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kotaro. O Brien throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
O Brien closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kotaro moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kotaro is looking to stand up but O Brien isn't so interested in that idea. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. O Brien works over Kotaro with some ground and pound from guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Donnie O Brien dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Good exchange - Kotaro coming out on top. O Brien fails to land with a series of punches.
Donnie O Brien seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kotaro misses with a hook
and O Brien counters with a series of strikes. Kotaro will be more careful next time no doubt.
Kotaro is rocked! O Brien is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Kotaro is in big trouble! O Brien is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Kotaro. Poor guy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Donnie O Brien ! Donnie O Brien decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
