And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Art Vandalay!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vandalay lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Vandalay throws a jab when Sirkiä was well out of range.
Vandalay looks to land a body kick but Sirkiä moved away.
Vandalay fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Sirkiä slips a straight right by Vandalay.
Vandalay missing with a left hand there. Sirkiä was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Vandalay lands with a hook. Sirkiä tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Sirkiä with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Vandalay to score with a decent uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vandalay scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Vandalay looks to land a left hand but Sirkiä moved out of range nicely.
Sirkiä looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Vandalay connects with a nice looking jab.
Vandalay lands a right hook to the body.

Sirkiä blocks a leg kick.
Vandalay jabs Sirkiä to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Vandalay wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Art Vandalay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vandalay tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sirkiä paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sirkiä takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Nice body kick there by Vandalay.
Sirkiä is breathing heavily.

Vandalay tries to clinch there but Sirkiä circles away.

and Sirkiä counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Vandalay!

Vandalay tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Vandalay tries to lock up and control but Sirkiä gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Vandalay is working to get back to half guard.

Vandalay is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Vandalay is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

It looks like Art Vandalay has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sirkiä softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Vandalay is out cold! Sirkiä jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Niko Sirkiä!
An out of breath Niko Sirkiä thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
