Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Welsh !
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Joseph Jones and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Welsh closes this distance looking for a takedown but Trombley circles away.
Trombley misses with a takedown attempt - Welsh sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Trombley misses with a body shot.
Trombley shoots in looking for a takedown. Welsh tries to sprawl out of it but Trombley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Welsh manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Trombley fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Trombley is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Welsh pulls his head out easily.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Welsh connects with a nice short shot to Trombley's temple.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

and Trombley counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Trombley shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Welsh 's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Trombley sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Welsh 's guard.
Trombley is trying to control the action in half guard but Welsh is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Welsh can do anything to dispel that myth.
Trombley winds up and cracks Welsh with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Welsh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Trombley is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Trombley is pressing down on Welsh 's thigh, looking to free his foot. Welsh is holding on for now.
Welsh tries to kick Trombley off but Trombley keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Welsh gets caught flat footed, as Trombley shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Trombley is working Welsh over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Welsh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trombley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Trombley feints and as Welsh raises his hands in defense, Trombley changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Trombley is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Welsh defends it well.

Trombley has hold of Welsh 's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Welsh tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Trombley cranks the arm and Welsh screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Welsh , who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
