Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Manny Holt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Victor Hugo! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hugo's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Holt connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hugo scrambles back to his feet. Hugo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Holt makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Holt cracks Hugo with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
It looks like Victor Hugo has been cut. Hugo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hugo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Holt scores with a nice right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hugo tries to clinch but Holt is having none of it. Hugo throws a big shot that misses. Holt throws a jab when Hugo was well out of range. Holt swings for the body but Hugo moves out of range.
Holt dodges the punch combination from Hugo.

Hugo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Holt. Holt has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Hugo throws out a powerful jab.
It looks like Manny Holt has been cut. Hugo falls off balance throwing a combination
and Holt counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. A nice leg kick lands there from Hugo. Hugo scores with a one two! Holt had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hugo misses with a double jab.
Holt closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hugo quickly recovers to half guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Holt thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hugo's head. Holt wants to pass to mount but Hugo is defending the position. Holt not landing any meaningful shots this time. Hugo is looking to escape. Hugo is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Holt in particular looking to stall. Hugo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Holt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Holt thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Holt takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Holt stops Hugo from getting back to his feet.
Holt not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Holt is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hugo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Holt. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Holt wants to control but Hugo is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hugo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Hugo tries to kick Holt off but Holt keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Holt performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Holt landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Holt missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Holt trying to control the action but Hugo is working from the bottom. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Holt lands with a punch from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Holt wants to take a breather but Hugo is having none of it. Holt throwing shots but Hugo is blocking nicely. Holt sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hugo defending well though. Holt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Holt performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Holt is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hugo tries to kick Holt off but Holt keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Manny Holt dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Hugo takes one on the button. Holt dodges the punch combination from Hugo.
Hugo looks to land a right hand but Holt moved out of range. Manny Holt is winning the standup battle so far. Holt fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hugo manages to avoid it. Holt gets the takedown into side control. Holt lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Hugo is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Holt has just dragged him back down to the mat. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Holt working the body and head with strikes. Holt prevents Hugo from escaping the position. Hugo is working to avoid the ground and pound but Holt connects with a decent elbow. Holt throwing shots but missing, from side control. Holt tries to move to full mount but Hugo actually manages to regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hugo is staying active underneath Holt, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Holt not landing any meaningful shots this time. Hugo is looking to escape. Holt not landing any meaningful shots this time. Hugo is trying to stand up here but Holt is controlling him well. Holt slips a nice elbow through Hugo's hands, connecting with Hugo's forehead.
That has opened up Victor Hugo's cut even more. Hugo wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Holt is pressing down on Hugo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hugo is holding on for now. Hugo tries to kick Holt off in order to stand up. Holt Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Hugo takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hugo is trying to buck Holt off. Holt landing strikes.
Victor Hugo's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Victor Hugo's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
