Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Billy Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tajhon Blahs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Billy Stevens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tajhon Blahs! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stevens tries a head kick but it misses.
Blahs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Blahs moves into full mount! Stevens is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Stevens is working hard here to advance position. Blahs looking to control but Stevens is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Stevens takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Stevens tries to get back to half guard but can't. Blahs goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Stevens is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blahs throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Blahs working for a triangle but Stevens defends it easily.
Stevens works over Blahs with some ground and pound from guard. Blahs is looking for a triangle but Stevens pushes his legs off easily.
Stevens controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Stevens stopping the sweep attempt from Blahs. Stevens keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Blahs's head. Stevens landing with the ground and pound. Blahs looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Stevens passes into side control.

Stevens creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Stevens wants to control but Blahs is keeping him busy. Blahs is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Stevens scores with a jab. Blahs acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Stevens throws a head kick but Blahs moves out of range.

Stevens lands with a cross. Blahs blocks a head kick by Stevens.
Blahs bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Blahs cracks Stevens with a big elbow. Blahs wants to control but Stevens is keeping him busy. Stevens tries to improve position but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blahs lands a decent elbow from side control. Blahs working the body and head with strikes. Blahs tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Stevens is trying to get back to half guard. Blahs lands some shots froms side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blahs lands an elbow. Blahs lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Stevens is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Blahs goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Stevens has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Blahs but great work by Stevens. Blahs is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Blahs manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Stevens wants to get back to full guard. Blahs tries to pass the half guard into mount. Stevens knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Stevens is holding on to half guard well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stevens gets full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tajhon Blahs dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Stevens misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Blahs.
Blahs drives through with a takedown into guard. Blahs stands up over Stevens, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Stevens not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Blahs must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Blahs postures up in Stevens's guard and throws a big left but Stevens blocks it. Blahs drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Stevens manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Blahs has Stevens in his guard. Blahs is looking for a triangle but Stevens pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Stevens looking to pass the guard. Blahs looking for a guillotine here but Stevens defends easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Blahs can do anything to dispel that myth. Stevens connects with a couple of short punches. Stevens slips nicely into half guard. Stevens is looking to stall here but Blahs recovers full guard. Blahs keeping moving, preventing Stevens from controlling successfully. Blahs has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stevens can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Stevens pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Blahs is keeping the position for now. Stevens trying to control the position from guard on top but Blahs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Blahs throwing short punches from the bottom. Blahs bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stevens's guard. Blahs landing with the ground and pound. Blahs is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Stevens wants to sweep but no luck. Stevens utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Stevens manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Blahs manages to get himself to full guard.
Blahs looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stevens is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stevens trying to control the position from guard on top but Blahs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Blahs wants to sweep but no luck. Stevens wants to control from the top but Blahs keeps moving. Stevens not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Stevens trying to control but Blahs is working from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Stevens tries to work over Blahs's front leg with a kick but Blahs checks it. A bone on bone clash there as Blahs blocks the leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Blahs tries to clinch there but Stevens circles away.
Stevens moves out of range as Blahs strikes. Stevens swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Stevens instigates a clinch. Stevens tries to stall but Blahs uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Billy Stevens is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Blahs fails to land the takedown. Stevens lands a nice looking body kick. Blahs fails with a takedown attempt. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Blahs crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Stevens - the referee stops the clock and Blahs gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Stevens. Blahs manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Billy Stevens is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Blahs darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Blahs winds up and cracks Stevens with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Blahs tries to pass the half guard into mount. Stevens knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Stevens is in trouble now - Blahs has advanced to mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Tajhon Blahs will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Blahs is trying to control the action in half guard but Stevens is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Blahs decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Stevens checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Stevens lands a with a good body shot. Blahs closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Stevens has hold of Blahs's hands but Blahs slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Stevens tries to roll over but Blahs keeps him under control. Stevens works his way to full guard. Good work.

Blahs is squirming around, avoiding Stevens's attempts to control the action. Stevens dominating with strikes here. Blahs tries to hold on but Stevens postures up. Stevens trying to control but Blahs is having none of it. Stevens controlling the pace for now. Stevens lands a heavy elbow. Billy Stevens has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Blahs has one foot on Stevens's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Tajhon Blahs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stevens misses with a head kick.
Blahs feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Stevens throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Stevens looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stevens managing to control the position. Stevens scores with a nice shot. Blahs wants to control from the top but Stevens keeps moving. Blahs loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Stevens working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blahs doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blahs manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Stevens looking for a guillotine here but Blahs defends easily.
Blahs content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Stevens looking for a sweep. Not yet Stevens, not yet.
And that's the end of the fight! Tajhon Blahs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Blahs winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
