Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oscralo De Santiuya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oscralo De Santiuya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Jones!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Santiuya dives in and scores a takedown into Jones's guard.
Jones is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
De Santiuya trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. De Santiuya doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. De Santiuya manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De Santiuya wants to stand but Jones is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but De Santiuya swivels and escapes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
De Santiuya stuffs the takedown.
Jones closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in De Santiuya's guard.
Jones wants to control from the top but De Santiuya keeps moving.

De Santiuya looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
Jones pushes down on De Santiuya's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Jones is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Jones seems to be looking for submissions.
De Santiuya looks like he's trying to stand up.
Jones tries to pass the half guard into mount. De Santiuya knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jones missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Jones seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
De Santiuya is refusing to be controlled, as Jones sits in half guard.
De Santiuya pushes Jones off looking to stand but Jones dives back in and keeps control.
Well, if Jones is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jim Jones wasn't active enough on the ground.

Jones scores with a takedown into De Santiuya's guard.
De Santiuya wants to sweep but no luck.
De Santiuya wants to stand but Jones is controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones wants to control from the top but De Santiuya keeps moving.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
De Santiuya wants to get back to his feet but Jones is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jim Jones hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
De Santiuya misses with a kick to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Jones dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


De Santiuya looks for the body kick but Jones saw that one coming.
Jones fails with a takedown attempt.
Jones takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Jones moves into the clinch.
Jones wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but De Santiuya has him pressed against the cage.

Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jones looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

De Santiuya shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. De Santiuya showed some decent athleticism there.
De Santiuya wants to stand but Jones has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
De Santiuya wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones is controlling De Santiuya's trapped leg to prevent De Santiuya from advancing to side control.
Jones is trying to control but can't.
Jim Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Jones wants to get back to his feet.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jim Jones wasn't active enough on the ground.
Jones dodges the punch combination from De Santiuya.
De Santiuya throws out a loose jab but Jones uses good head movement to avoid it.
No luck for De Santiuya with that takedown attempt.

Jones closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. De Santiuya did well to prevent Jones getting side control.

De Santiuya looks like he's trying to stand up.

De Santiuya is defending against the submission attempts here by Jones.

Jones thows a huge punch but De Santiuya dodges it nicely.

Jones seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. De Santiuya is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
