Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Buckley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Belwar Battlehammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Belwar Battlehammer is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Phil Buckley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Belwar Battlehammer!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Buckley clinches up against the cage.

Buckley has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Battlehammer is trying to keep an underhook but Buckley manages to get the takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Battlehammer is trying to control but can't.
Buckley scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Buckley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Buckley is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Battlehammer tries to get to full guard but Buckley has control of the leg.
Buckley wants to take a breather but Battlehammer is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Battlehammer won't allow Buckley to pass to mount.
Buckley thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Battlehammer's head.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Phil Buckley.
Buckley tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Battlehammer paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Buckley throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Battlehammer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Battlehammer throws a head kick but Buckley moves out of range.
A shot to the liver by Battlehammer. Beautiful body shot.
Battlehammer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Buckley as he jumps to the side.
Battlehammer tries to clinch up but Buckley circles away and keeps his distance.

Buckley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Buckley is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Battlehammer seems keen to control Buckley's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Phil Buckley wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Buckley goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Buckley looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Buckley is stalling in the full guard.

Battlehammer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Buckley defends well.

Buckley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Battlehammer is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Buckley defends it well.
Buckley on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Buckley tries to get out of the position.

Buckley wants to improve his position but Battlehammer is controlling well.
Buckley is looking to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Buckley moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Battlehammer lands with a thumping leg kick.

Buckley closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Buckley is just content to waste time from the top position. Battlehammer takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Battlehammer is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Buckley connects with a couple of short punches.

Buckley gets to his feet - Battlehammer follows without any prompting.

Buckley shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Buckley showed some decent athleticism there.

Buckley is nestled in close to Battlehammer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Buckley works his way into side control.
Buckley tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Battlehammer is trying to control Buckley's posture but Buckley avoids it.

Battlehammer is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Buckley is staying active.
Battlehammer tries to buck Buckley off but Buckley is having none of it.
Buckley advances to full mount.

Buckley has hold of Battlehammer's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Battlehammer manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Buckley lands a big shot there that rocks Battlehammer but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Battlehammer regains half guard.
Buckley tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Well, if Buckley is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Buckley is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Battlehammer sees it coming and defends easily.
Buckley winds up and cracks Battlehammer with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Buckley wants to control but Battlehammer is keeping him busy.

Battlehammer looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Battlehammer on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Buckley seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Battlehammer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Battlehammer is trying to escape back to his feet but Buckley uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Battlehammer is breathing heavily.
Battlehammer tries to improve position but can't.

Buckley thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Buckley throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Battlehammer scores with a nice right hand.
Buckley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Battlehammer is fending him off so far but Buckley persists. Nope, Battlehammer circles away and we're back to standing.
Buckley fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Battlehammer doesn't manage to clinch there - Buckley circles away.
Buckley shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Battlehammer as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phil Buckley. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Buckley counters with a shoot takedown. Battlehammer fights it but they end up in guard.

Buckley changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Battlehammer looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Buckley, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
