Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mic Hael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Watson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Roll Right. Hael has chosen WISE MAN AND HIS WORDS by Wiley as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
35 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brian Watson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mic Hael! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hael just misses with a punch to the body.
Hael displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Watson closes the distance but Hael moves to the side and Hael counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Watson misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Hael breaks from the clinch.
Hael defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Watson. Watson moves into the clinch. Watson is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Hael tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Watson takes an elbow to the forehead. Hael breaks from the clinch.
Watson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Hael misses with a lunging right hand
and Watson counters into the clinch. Nicely done. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hael wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Watson has him pressed against the cage. Watson tries to stall but Hael uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Hael throws a punch but it's blocked by Watson. Watson has Hael pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Watson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hael tumbling to the mat - Watson dives into Hael's guard. Watson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Watson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Watson wants to control from the top but Hael keeps moving. Watson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Hael working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Watson. Watson's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Watson postures up in Hael's guard and throws a big left but Hael blocks it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Brian Watson. Watson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hael pinned against the cage. Hael gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Watson checks a leg kick. Watson tries for a takedown but Hael sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Watson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Watson closes the distance but Hael moves to the side letting Hael counter with a right hand. Hael fails to land with a series of punches.
Watson blocks the body kick.
Hael lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Watson circles away quickly and effectively. Hael lands a head shot. Hael pulls out of a head kick attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action! Watson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Watson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hael quickly recovers to half guard. Watson passes to side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hael takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Hael is trying to work for a sweep but Watson has mounted him! Hael is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Watson raining down hammerfists from mount. Watson with good strikes from the mount here! Watson looking to control but Hael is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Watson breaks from Hael's wrist control and lands an elbow. Watson with shots to the head and body - Hael looks very uncomfortable down there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Watson lands with some strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Watson raining down hammerfists from mount. Watson working away from the top, dropping strikes. Watson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hael is looking to escape. Hael manages to regain half guard. Good work. Watson wants to take a breather but Hael is having none of it. Ground and pound from Watson. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hael is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Watson stalling away here and it's allowed Hael to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Watson dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Watson is looking to clinch but Hael is avoiding it.
Watson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hael did well to prevent Watson getting side control. Watson looks to land a strike but Hael avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Hael looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Watson throws an elbow that misses. Hael uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Watson's guard. Nice move by Hael! Hael trying to move into half guard but instead Watson has managed to sweep! Watson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hael works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Watson postures up in Hael's guard and throws a big left but Hael blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Watson lands a couple of decent looking shots. Watson trying to control the position from guard on top but Hael is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hael not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Watson tries to free his leg and advance position but Hael is retaining full guard. Hael avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Watson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hael looking to control but Watson passes into half guard.
Watson wants to pass the guard but Hael is defending well. Watson throwing shots but Hael is blocking nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hael controlling the position for now. Watson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hael sees it coming and defends easily. The fighters are battling for position here. Hael manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Watson wants to control from the top but Hael keeps moving. Hael preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Watson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hael is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Watson landing some decent shots from guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Watson won't allow Hael to sweep him here. Brian Watson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Watson working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Watson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Watson looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Hael working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Watson. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Watson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hael is trying to control the position but Watson postures up. Hael looking for a sweep. Not yet Hael, not yet. Watson trying to control the position from guard on top but Hael is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hael looking to hit a scissor sweep but Watson is one step ahead there. Watson wants to control from the top but Hael keeps moving. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
We're going to have a standup here because Brian Watson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Hael lands with an overhand left. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Watson slips a jab from Hael. Watson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hael as he avoids it easily. Hael drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Watson fails with the takedown. Hael will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A solid body kick from Hael. Watson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A right-left combo lands from Hael. Watson doesn't manage to clinch there - Hael circles away.
Mic Hael seems to be getting the better of the standup. Hael throws a body punch but Watson moves out of range. Hael ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Watson moves away. Watson closes the distance looking to clinch and Hael counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hael throws a leg kick that misses. Hael wants to land a leg kick but Watson is out of range. Hael misses with a head kick.
Hael feints and then cracks Watson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Watson down. Hael swings widly with a right hand
and Watson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hael won't be happy with that. Hael is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Watson controlling the action here. Watson wants to pass the guard but Hael is defending well. Hael keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Watson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hael's head. Mic Hael has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Watson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Watson is looking to take a break and control but Hael is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hael makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hael. Watson wants to pass the guard but Hael is keeping the position. Watson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hael keeping full guard, as Watson tries to pass. Watson throwing strikes from guard but Hael blocks nicely.

Hael is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Watson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Brian Watson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hael is trying to keep Watson in close.
Hael is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Watson is aware though and is defending well. Watson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Watson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Hael wants to hit a switch here but Watson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Hael there!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Watson looking to control but Hael is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Watson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hael has worked his arm free - good work by Hael!
And that's the end of the fight! Brian Watson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Watson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
