Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jackie Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Free Gves!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gves lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Jackie Diaz has been cut.
Diaz takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A jab lands there for Gves.
Gves connects with a body shot.
Free Gves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gves lands with a straight right. Diaz didn't see that one coming.
Gves tests Diaz's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Gves lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Gves throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Diaz.
Diaz on the wrong end of a nice jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Diaz bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Gves is looking to regain half guard here but Diaz keeps moving and retains side control.

Gves is trying to escape the position but Diaz is controlling the position.
Diaz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Diaz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Gves drops back, looking for a kneebar! Diaz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Diaz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Diaz!
Gves tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Diaz presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Diaz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
