Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bob Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Nickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bob Steele! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Nickson! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steele tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nickson swats him away and circles back towards the center. A slow jab from Nickson misses its intended target. Nickson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Steele is landing a low percentage of strikes. Nickson leaves Steele with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Nickson lands with a nice combination. Steele backs away looking to recover. Steele thows a body shot but no joy. Steele fails with the takedown. Nickson lands a nice shot that snaps Steele's head back.
Nickson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nickson avoids the head kick by Steele.
Nickson misses with a wild body shot. Steele tries to clinch up. Steele could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Nickson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Steele shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nickson sprawls well. Nickson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Steele gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Steele. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nickson blocks a head kick by Steele.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nickson connects with a single shot there. A cross from Nickson lands. Steele fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Steele dodges the punch combination from Nickson.
Steele tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Steele tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nickson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Steele somewhat. Nickson lunges at Steele with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Steele's hand. Nickson lands an overhand right. Nickson ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Nickson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Steele is rocked! Nickson is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Steele walks straight into a right hand from Nickson - that's dropped him! Nickson jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Steele from any more punishment! Steele complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). James Nickson!
