The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Mendes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ortiz as he jumps to the side.
Ortiz digs a good body shot into Mendes's ribs.

Ortiz goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Mendes has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ortiz is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Mendes yanks on the arm and Ortiz is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Mendes.
