Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tataki Mizuto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kotaro Fuma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kotaro Fuma is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tataki Mizuto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 55 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Kotaro Fuma!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mizuto closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fuma's guard.
Mizuto works over Fuma with some ground and pound from guard.
Mizuto postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mizuto not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Mizuto has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Mizuto stands up over Fuma, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Mizuto will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fuma has momentary wrist control but Mizuto slips an elbow through the middle.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fuma really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mizuto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mizuto cracks Fuma with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Fuma is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Mizuto swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Fuma is now in Mizuto's guard. A big mistake from Mizuto there, giving up the dominant position!

Mizuto wants to improve his position but instead Fuma has moved into half guard.

We've been informed that Fuma has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mizuto bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fuma's guard.
Mizuto stays in close to Fuma's body and controls the position.

Mizuto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fuma swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tataki Mizuto dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Mizuto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fuma tries to avoid it but Mizuto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fuma to the ground. Fuma escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mizuto shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fuma fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mizuto shoots in looking for a takedown. Fuma tries to sprawl out of it but Mizuto keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fuma manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tataki Mizuto. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mizuto tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fuma sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mizuto somewhat.

Fuma's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Fuma is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mizuto's half guard.
Mizuto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mizuto moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Mizuto lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Fuma!
Mizuto goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Fuma is on top in guard.

Mizuto is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Fuma has his hands clasped together but Mizuto extends and breaks Fuma's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Mizuto.
