Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Al Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Iverson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Iverson! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Iverson throws a series of punches but Russo moves out of range. Russo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sloppy strikes from Iverson. Those never looked like landing. No luck with that takedown attempt from Iverson. Iverson throws a series of punches but Russo avoids them all with ease. Russo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Iverson looks to land a combination but Russo avoids it well. Iverson throws a right and a left that Russo avoids nicely. Russo leaves Iverson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Iverson wants to clinch up but Russo keeps it at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A combination from Iverson does no damage. Thomas Iverson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Iverson misses with the combination.
Iverson tries to clinch but fails miserably and Russo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Iverson won't be happy with that. Iverson tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Russo presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Iverson tries to hold on but Russo postures up. Iverson is looking to get to half guard. Russo stands up from mount. Strange move. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Al Russo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Iverson. Iverson throws a series of punches but Russo avoids them all with ease. Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Russo decides to stand and escape the position. Iverson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Russo trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Iverson darts in looking for a takedown but Russo gets double underhooks and turns Iverson into the cage. Al Russo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Iverson. Russo has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Iverson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Russo keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Iverson's efforts to push away. Iverson is trying to break the clinch but Russo has him pressed against the cage. Russo has Iverson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Iverson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Russo has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Iverson after a bit of a struggle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Russo is trying to drag Iverson to the mat but Iverson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Russo keeps control of Iverson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Russo is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Russo wants to take the fight to the mat but Iverson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Iverson prevents a takedown attempt there.
Iverson is trying to break the clinch but Russo has him pressed against the cage. Thomas Iverson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Al Russo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Iverson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Al Russo. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Russo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
