Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alistair Brockton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dinesh Mistry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dinesh Mistry told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alistair Brockton! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dinesh Mistry! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Mistry pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brockton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mistry as he jumps to the side. Mistry doesn't succeed with the takedown and Brockton counters with a takedown into side control. Brockton working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Brockton is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mistry is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Brockton tries to advance to mount but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brockton is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mistry knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Mistry regains half guard there - taking advantage of Brockton's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Mistry is defending against the submission attempts here by Brockton.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brockton looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Brockton is taking a breather. Mistry says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brockton is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Mistry still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Mistry has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Mistry moves into full mount! Mistry with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brockton is working to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brockton regains half guard. Brockton preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Mistry is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Brockton keeps control of the position for the meantime. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mistry tries to land a front kick but Brockton steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Brockton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mistry was covering up waiting for the punch and Brockton finishes the takedown easily into guard. Brockton postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mistry is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Brockton, into his guard. Mistry drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Brockton dives on top into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brockton postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mistry is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Brockton, into his guard. Mistry throws a big right hand that misses. Mistry passes Brockton's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brockton is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Mistry looking for a submission but Brockton manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Mistry won't allow Brockton to sweep him here. Brockton has Mistry pulled in close to control his posture. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brockton is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brockton trying to control the position from guard on top but Mistry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brockton looking to pass the guard. Brockton advances to half guard. Brockton is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mistry sees it coming and defends easily. Brockton is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's one minute gone in the round. Brockton wants to work for an arm triangle but Mistry is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Brockton throws a strike but Mistry avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Mistry working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brockton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Brockton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Brockton trying to control but Mistry is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mistry has an active guard here but Brockton has managed to pass into half guard.
Brockton is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mistry doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Brockton. Brockton is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mistry is just riding it out for now. Brockton eventually gives up the hold.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brockton is working for a kimura here but Mistry manages to reverse the position and he's now in Brockton's guard.
Brockton looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mistry is one step ahead there. Mistry looking to sit in guard and control but Brockton gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brockton looking to pass the guard. Alistair Brockton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Brockton drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mistry looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mistry looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mistry! Brockton tries to buck Mistry off but Mistry is having none of it. Mistry is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A control attempt from Brockton but he's now mounted! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alistair Brockton clearly takes that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Brockton defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mistry. Brockton darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Brockton is trying to work for a kimura but Mistry is defending well.

Mistry is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Brockton yanks on the arm and Mistry is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Brockton.
