Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Angel Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pooman Skidoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skidoo has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Angel Santiago! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pooman Skidoo! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Roberts and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Skidoo shoots in but no luck this time. Skidoo looks winded! Santiago gets in close and instigates a clinch. A quick uppercut on the inside from Santiago. Santiago tries to land knees in the clinch but Skidoo avoids the damage to the body. Santiago will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Skidoo up against the cage. Santiago is looking to take this one to the mat. Santiago unloads a knee to the mid-section. Santiago tries for a takedown. No joy.
Santiago really is a fat lump. Santiago drops down looking for an ankle pick but Skidoo pulls his leg out and moves away.

Santiago content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Santiago decides to stand up. Santiago wants to clinch. Santiago shoots in looking for a takedown but Skidoo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Santiago's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Skidoo wants it to stay on the feet. Horrible takedown by Santiago or perhaps it was just good defense by Skidoo which made him look bad. Santiago shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Skidoo but Skidoo pushes him off and we're back to square one. Santiago closes the distance looking to clinch and Skidoo counters with a good low kick that Santiago was not able to check.

Santiago tries to clinch up. No luck with that takedown attempt from Santiago. Santiago darts in looking for a takedown but Skidoo gets double underhooks and turns Santiago into the cage. Skidoo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Santiago fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Santiago throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Santiago dives in and grabs Skidoo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Skidoo pushes down on Santiago's head and hops out. Skidoo throws a right and a left that Santiago avoids nicely. Danga de danga de dang - Santiago scores with a four punch combination! Santiago misses with a straight left. Santiago tries to clinch up and Skidoo counters with a one-two to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Skidoo tries to close the distance and clinch but Santiago swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Santiago closes the distance and clinches. Santiago pulls guard. Skidoo wants to pass the guard but Santiago is keeping the position. Santiago is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Skidoo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Santiago keeping full guard, as Skidoo tries to pass. That's four minutes gone in the round. Santiago bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Skidoo's guard. Santiago with a flurry of punches that miss. Santiago controls from within his opponent's guard. Santiago advances to half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Skidoo tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Santiago has advanced to mount. Uh oh. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Angel Santiago dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Santiago controls Skidoo momentarily but Skidoo frees himself. Santiago is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santiago working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Skidoo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Skidoo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Santiago manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Santiago takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Skidoo looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Skidoo covering up well under a series of strikes from Santiago. Santiago controls the position. I really don't envy Skidoo right now.

Santiago is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Santiago gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Santiago gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Santiago apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Skidoo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Santiago. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Angel Santiago. That's going to take a lot out of him. Santiago misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

And that's the end of the fight! Angel Santiago showed his dominance in that final round. Well Santiago has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
