Montero comes to the cage accompanied by Danzig - Mother . Yakovchenko has chosen Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Toshiro Montero!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Igor Yakovchenko!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yakovchenko throws an overhand right that lands on Montero's shoulder, as Montero tries to avoid the shot.
Yakovchenko on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Montero. Montero obviously looking to wear him down.
Montero cracks the inside of Yakovchenko's front leg.
Yakovchenko throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Montero sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Montero.
Yakovchenko has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Montero scores with a crisp jab that stopped Yakovchenko in his tracks.
Montero moves out of range of the body kick.
Yakovchenko fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Montero bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Yakovchenko's head.
Montero comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Yakovchenko will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Yakovchenko throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Yakovchenko uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Montero.

Yakovchenko gets caught napping as Montero dives in and scores a takedown. Yakovchenko manages to retain guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Yakovchenko pushes a forearm under Montero's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Montero is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Igor Yakovchenko!
