The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maxwell fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Evans's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Maxwell connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Evans scrambles back to his feet.
Evans with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Maxwell to score with a decent uppercut.
Maxwell thuds his right hand into Evans's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Evans shoots in for a double leg but Maxwell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Maxwell jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Evans doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Maxwell scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Evans takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Maxwell connects with a body shot that sends Evans's belly button to the back.
Evans could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Evans will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Maxwell misses with a wild combination.

Maxwell scores with a one two! Evans had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Maxwell lands with a good body shot.

Maxwell punishes Evans's body with a nice straight punch.
Bobby Maxwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maxwell lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Evans is rocked!
Evans gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Maxwell gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
