Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Olen Sellers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ross Rhea! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick by Rhea misses and Sellers counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rhea won't be happy with that. Sellers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Sellers tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Rhea is looking to regain half guard here but Sellers keeps moving and retains side control. Rhea controls the position for a moment. Rhea tries to escape but Sellers is in control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rhea is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Rhea wants to control but Sellers postures up. Rhea tries to bench press Sellers off him but Sellers keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nice takedown defense from Sellers. No joy for Rhea on that attempt. Rhea tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Rhea is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Rhea fails with the takedown and Sellers counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Rhea! Rhea gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rhea preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Sellers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Rhea wants to improve his position but Sellers is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rhea working for a triangle but Sellers defends it easily.

Rhea might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sellers haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ross Rhea will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Rhea tries to clinch and Sellers counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rhea won't be happy with that. Rhea tries to escape but Sellers is in control. Rhea is looking to reverse the position. Rhea is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sellers off and has taken his back! Sellers holding both Rhea 's hands and preventing any damage. Sellers is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Rhea is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Sellers has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Sellers controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Rhea has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Sellers's body.
Sellers wants to get back to his feet. A bit of a pause in the action here. Rhea controlling the positon.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rhea throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rhea wants to control the position but Sellers frees himself and scrambles - Rhea manages to regain control in side control.
Rhea happy to just control the position for now.
Ross Rhea has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Sellers stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sellers wants it to stay on the feet. Rhea wants to clinch up but Sellers keeps it at a distance. Rhea throws a series of punches but Sellers avoids them all with ease. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ross Rhea showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Sellers leaves Rhea with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Rhea lands a nice hook to Sellers's body. Sellers takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Rhea shoots in but Sellers avoids the takedown attempt easily. Rhea fails in his attempt to clinch. Rhea tries to clinch and Sellers counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Rhea looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sellers is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rhea controlling Sellers's posture. Ross Rhea has got the better of the ground game so far. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Olen Sellers just wasn't active enough. Rhea clinches with his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Rhea ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rhea no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Rhea has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Sellers has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rhea is proving hard to escape from. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. No luck with that takedown attempt from Rhea. Olen Sellers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ross Rhea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rhea shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sellers defends it nicely. Sellers checks a low kick from Rhea. Sellers blocks the body kick.
Rhea shoots for a double leg takedown but Sellers sprawls well. He's pushed Rhea's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Rhea fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sellers manages to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sellers takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Horrible takedown by Rhea or perhaps it was just good defense by Sellers which made him look bad. Rhea takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Sellers avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rhea misses with a takedown attempt - Sellers sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Rhea misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Rhea looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sellers is fending him off so far but Rhea persists. Nope, Sellers circles away and we're back to standing.
And that's the end of the fight! Ross Rhea comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Rhea has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
