Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Maynard Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ad Jansens!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman tries to clinch there but Jansens circles away.
Jansens throws a right and a left that both miss.
Coleman throws a head kick but Jansens moves out of range.
Jansens throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Coleman fails with a takedown attempt.

Jansens clinches.
Jansens blocks the elbow strike.

Coleman has Jansens pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Coleman pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Jansens tumbling to the mat - Coleman dives into Jansens's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Coleman is pushing down on Jansens's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jansens is fighting to maintain full guard but Coleman has managed to sneak the leg through.

Jansens trying to hold on to Coleman's head to control him but Coleman postures up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Jansens wants to clinch.
Jansens throws a chopping leg kick but Coleman manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Coleman moves to clinch but Jansens breaks away
and Jansens counters with a nice body kick.
Jansens misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jansens throws a nice looking combination but Coleman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jansens throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Coleman sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jansens fails with an attempt to clinch.
Coleman throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jansens stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Jansens looks winded!

Coleman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jansens looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Coleman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jansens manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Coleman has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jansens is proving hard to escape from.

Coleman slips a nice elbow through Jansens's hands, connecting with Jansens's forehead.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Coleman gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jansens.
Jansens rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Coleman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jansens tries to bum rush Coleman with a series of wild strikes but Coleman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Jansens misses with a few strikes there.

Jansens tries to sprawl but Coleman drives through with a takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Maynard Coleman.

Coleman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Coleman moves out of range of the body kick from Jansens.

Coleman shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jansens napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Coleman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Jansens is looking to score with low kicks.
Coleman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jansens swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jansens wants to land a leg kick but Coleman is out of range.
Maynard Coleman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Coleman motions for Jansens to come forward. Coleman throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Both fighters circling a little - Jansens finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Jansens wants to clinch but Coleman slips to the side

and Coleman counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Coleman controls from within his opponent's guard.
Coleman would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Coleman trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Coleman throws a big right hand that misses.
Coleman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Maynard Coleman wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Jansens takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Jansens is trying to stand back up but Coleman is controlling him
Maynard Coleman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Coleman is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Coleman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Ad Jansens has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Maynard Coleman.
Jansens throws a leg kick but Coleman sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Jansens tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Coleman was well out of range. Poor timing from Jansens.

Coleman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Coleman has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Maynard Coleman has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Jansens will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

And that's the end of the fight!
Maynard Coleman showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Coleman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
