The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brahim shoots in looking for a takedown. Whitehead tries to sprawl out of it but Brahim keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Whitehead manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Brahim has gone for a leg lock! Whitehead slips out almost immediately though and dives into Brahim's guard.

Brahim is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Brahim had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Whitehead defends it easily.

Brahim tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Whitehead has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Whitehead can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Brahim is looking to escape.
Whitehead takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
