Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Amos The Facebreaker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brett Rogers! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Facebreaker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The Facebreaker fails with a takedown attempt. The Facebreaker clinches with his opponent.
The Facebreaker has Rogers pressed against the cage.
Rogers is trying to work for a single leg takedown but The Facebreaker pulls him back up using the underhooks. The Facebreaker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The Facebreaker tries to clinch but Rogers is having none of it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from The Facebreaker. Rogers scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The Facebreaker looks like he's trying to stand up.
Rogers prevents The Facebreaker from improving his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers winds up and cracks The Facebreaker with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The Facebreaker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Rogers keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The Facebreaker is trying to stand up here but Rogers is controlling him well. The Facebreaker is looking for a sweep. Rogers is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The Facebreaker is breathing heavily. Rogers drops an elbow to the side of The Facebreaker's head. The Facebreaker wants to control but Rogers is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rogers working over The Facebreaker with some ground and pound. The Facebreaker looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rogers wants to pass the guard but The Facebreaker is defending well. Rogers perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Rogers works his way into full mount! The Facebreaker is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Rogers putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Rogers working The Facebreaker over with strikes here. BOOM! Rogers connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Rogers postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks The Facebreaker out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Rogers goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Brett Rogers!
