The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sampson did well to prevent Young getting side control.
Young is trying to control the action in half guard but Sampson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Young with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Young tries to stand but can't do so whilst Sampson controls his leg.
Still in half guard, Young seems content to control.
Young wants to stand up but Sampson manages to regain full guard.
Young is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Neill Young was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Sampson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Young as he jumps to the side.
Sampson has managed to clinch.

Young tries to pull guard but Sampson holds him up against the cage and eventually Young drops back down to his feet.

Sampson is working for takedown but Young is calmly controlling the position for now.

Young pulls guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Young has eaten all the pies!
Young lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sampson!

Young seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sampson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Young is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Young is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sampson sees it coming and defends easily.
Sampson is looking for a sweep. Young is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Young connects with a nice short shot to Sampson's temple.

Young has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Sampson! Can he survive? No! He's out! Young gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
