The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gill throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nelson.
Gill uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nelson.
Gill fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nelson avoids it really well and circles away.

Gill takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

and Gill decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nelson's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Gill cracks Nelson with a big right hand but Nelson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Gill has hold of Nelson's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Nelson seems comfortable defending it but Gill has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Nelson is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Nelson is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gill couldn't care less - he's delighted!
