Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jessie Fuentes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brazilian Element I!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Element I throws a sloppy head kick and Fuentes moves out of range easily.
Nice takedown defense from Element I. No joy for Fuentes on that attempt.

Element I closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Fuentes quickly recovers to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Element I seems to be looking for submissions.
Element I winds up and cracks Fuentes with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Element I is working for a submission of some sort.
Element I trying to control from half guard but Fuentes is working away.
Fuentes is trying to get back to full guard.
Element I has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fuentes is trying to stand up here but Element I is controlling him well.
Element I is pressing down on Fuentes's thigh, looking to free his foot. Fuentes is holding on for now.
Fuentes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Element I on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Element I is trying to work for a kimura but Fuentes is defending well.

Element I seems to be looking for submissions.
Element I trying to control the pace.
Fuentes is looking to improve his position.
Element I is controlling the pace.
Fuentes wants to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Element I looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Element I is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fuentes is just riding it out for now. Element I eventually gives up the hold.

Element I is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Fuentes sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Element I is taking a breather. Fuentes says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Element I wants to take a breather but Fuentes is having none of it.

Element I has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Fuentes defend it? Element I steps over the head and cranks it - Fuentes is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Element I!
