Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bob Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conor McCabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Hansen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Conor McCabe!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Columbo Gatti and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCabe fails to land with a series of punches.
McCabe misses with a series of wild punches.

Hansen has McCabe up against the cage in a clinch.
Hansen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hansen prevents McCabe from breaking the clinch.
McCabe working hard to break the clinch.
McCabe is trying to break free.

McCabe is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hansen is just too persistent for him and manages to trip McCabe to the mat. McCabe regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Hansen stops McCabe from standing up.
Hansen wanted to stand there but McCabe had control of the position.
McCabe keeping full guard, as Hansen tries to pass.
Hansen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hansen throws a big right hand that misses.
Hansen wants to get up but he can't break McCabe's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Hansen stops McCabe from standing up.

McCabe manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Hansen fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hansen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from McCabe.

A momentary lapse in concentration from McCabe enables Hansen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. McCabe manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hansen is looking to stand up but McCabe won't let him.
McCabe is looking to stand up but Hansen isn't so interested in that idea.
Hansen wants to get up but he can't break McCabe's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
McCabe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hansen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hansen trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Hansen wants to control from the top but McCabe keeps moving.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
McCabe wants to stand up but Hansen is controlling him.
Hansen tries to stand but McCabe is controlling from the bottom.

McCabe has his feet on Hansen's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hansen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hansen showed some decent athleticism there.
McCabe is refusing to be controlled, as Hansen sits in half guard.

McCabe is trying to stand up here but Hansen is controlling him well.

Hansen is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
McCabe is not content to let Hansen control the position.
Hansen is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

McCabe is looking to escape.
Hansen throwing shots but McCabe is blocking nicely.
Hansen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McCabe does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hansen tries to pass to full mount but McCabe defends it.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hansen lands a nice short elbow.

Hansen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McCabe defends it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
It looks like Hansen is going to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


McCabe throws a right hand that Hansen ducks under and follows up with a left that Hansen also avoids with ease.

and Hansen counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hansen.
McCabe is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Hansen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McCabe is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
McCabe wants to break free but Hansen has control.

Hansen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McCabe but McCabe pushes him off and we're back to square one.

McCabe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Bob Hansen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
McCabe is breathing heavily.
McCabe moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Hansen tries a head kick but it misses.
McCabe rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hansen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hansen seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bob Hansen.

McCabe scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
McCabe throws a nice looking combination but Hansen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hansen closes this distance looking for a takedown but McCabe circles away.

McCabe is trying to push Hansen away but Hansen has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Hansen jumps guard and drags McCabe to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
McCabe wants to stand and escape but instead Hansen has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hansen wants to stand but McCabe has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bob Hansen will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


No joy there for McCabe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McCabe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hansen circles away quickly and effectively.
McCabe fails to land with a series of punches.

Hansen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Bob Hansen just wasn't active enough.

Hansen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. McCabe was covering up waiting for the punch and Hansen finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Hansen wants to stand but McCabe is controlling his posture from full guard.
Hansen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McCabe wants to stand but Hansen is controlling the position.
Bob Hansen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

McCabe is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Conor McCabe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bob Hansen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Hansen tries for a takedown but McCabe manages to get underhooks.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bob Hansen showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hansen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
