Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Miles Fonta! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mikhail Lepikhin! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fonta lands a nice looking body shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. Fonta darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Fonta changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Fonta lands a jab to the head.
Fonta bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Lepikhin's head backwards. Fonta lunges at Lepikhin with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Lepikhin's hand. Fonta swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Lepikhin. The crowd cheers as Fonta lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lepikhin doesn't seem phased though. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Fonta lands a jab to Lepikhin's midsection. Lepikhin walks into a left hand. Lepikhin on the wrong end of a nice hook. Fonta lands with a nice body punch. Fonta definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Fonta scores with a decent looking hook. Fonta connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Lepikhin is rocked! Lepikhin takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fonta throws a good cross that connects.
Lepikhin is still on wobbly legs! Can Fonta finish him? Lepikhin swings widly with a right hand
and Fonta connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Fonta dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Lepikhin misses with a left hand and Fonta counters with a lovely shot to the body. Fonta fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Fonta feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Lepikhin sprawling to the canvas! Lepikhin rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Fonta finish him?!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lepikhin rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Fonta counters with a big right hand! Oh Lepikhin is in trouble here! Fonta follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Miles Fonta! During a confident post fight interview, Miles Fonta thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
