Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Espirit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velasquez comes to the cage accompanied by Lupang Hinirang-Martin Nievera. Arthur Espirit told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cain Velasquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arthur Espirit! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velasquez misses with a takedown attempt - Espirit sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Espirit lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

It looks like Cain Velasquez has been cut. Velasquez takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Espirit jabs Velasquez to the body, keeping him at a distance. Espirit ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Velasquez takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Espirit looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Espirit connects with a body shot that sends Velasquez's belly button to the back. Arthur Espirit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Velasquez swings for the body but Espirit moves out of range.
Velasquez shoots in looking for a takedown but Espirit manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Velasquez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nice sprawl there from Espirit as Velasquez shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cain Velasquez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Velasquez is breathing heavily. Espirit lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Espirit slaps away a takedown attempt from Velasquez, before circling back to the center of the mat. Velasquez shoots in but Espirit avoids the takedown attempt easily. Espirit misses with a low kick.
Espirit fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Velasquez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Espirit attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Espirit connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Velasquez gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Espirit. Espirit connects with the punch. Espirit is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Espirit changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Espirit lands with a good body shot. Espirit keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Velasquez is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Espirit throws a big elbow that misses. Oh Velasquez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Velasquez wants to stand but Espirit is controlling the position. Velasquez seems to have got his legs back now. Velasquez is trying to control the position but Espirit postures up. Velasquez has a closed guard, preventing Espirit from standing up. Velasquez preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Espirit working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Espirit must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Velasquez looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Espirit has picked Velasquez up and slammed him! Velasquez can't keep hold of the triangle and Espirit manages to pass to side control! Espirit tries to advance to mount but can't. Espirit working the head with strikes.  That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Espirit misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Velasquez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Velasquez tries to get out of the position. Espirit landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
