Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Nickoson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Jet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Mike Nickoson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Nickoson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mauricio Jet! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nickoson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Jet misses with a takedown and Nickoson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Jet shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Nickoson counters with a stiff right hand. Nickoson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. The fighters circling - Nickoson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Nickoson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Jet closes the distance and clinches up with Nickoson, looking for a takedown. Jet pushes Nickoson against the cage but Nickoson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. We've been hearing reports that Nickoson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Mike Nickoson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mauricio Jet. Horrible takedown by Jet or perhaps it was just good defense by Nickoson which made him look bad. Nickoson misses with a low kick as Jet jumps back. Nickoson connects with the punch. Jet gets a takedown into half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Nickoson wants to control but Jet is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nickoson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Jet passes Nickoson's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Jet maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Nickoson could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Jet has cracked it and Nickoson is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Jet!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mauricio Jet! Our winner, Mauricio Jet, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
