And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Born Jr!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Born Jr gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Yashibi to score an easy takedown into full guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Yashibi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Born Jr's guard.

Yashibi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Yashibi seems to be looking for submissions.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Born Jr has eaten all the pies!

Born Jr is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Yashibi pulls his head out easily.

Yashibi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Born Jr is just riding it out for now. Yashibi eventually gives up the hold.

Yashibi is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Born Jr has managed to free his arm - good work.
Yashibi trying to control from half guard but Born Jr is working away.
Born Jr is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Yashibi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Yashibi's back!

Born Jr looking to break Yashibi's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Yashibi remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Born Jr will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Yashibi trying to control the action but Born Jr just sinks the hooks in.
Born Jr is hanging on to Yashibi's back as he tries to escape.
Born Jr gets his hands free as Yashibi looks to control.
Yashibi can't escape the position.

Born Jr is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Yashibi has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Born Jr has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Yashibi taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Born Jr doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mike Born Jr!
An out of breath Mike Born Jr thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
