Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Carpenter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Absolute Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Absolute Beast has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mike Carpenter's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Carpenter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Absolute Beast! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beast closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Carpenter's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Carpenter trying to strike off his back.
Beast is looking to pass into half guard but Carpenter pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Carpenter is in guard. Carpenter showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Carpenter would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Carpenter won't allow Beast to sweep him here. Carpenter scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Beast is trying to keep Carpenter in close.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beast looking for a sweep. Not yet Beast, not yet. Beast wants to stand but Carpenter is controlling the position. Carpenter is looking to stand up but Beast won't let him. Carpenter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Mike Carpenter has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Carpenter moves out of range of the body kick from Beast.
Beast shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Beast looks for the body kick but Carpenter saw that one coming. Beast avoids the head kick by Carpenter.
Carpenter moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Beast wants to break the clinch but can't.
Carpenter wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Carpenter gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Carpenter scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Carpenter slows the pace down in half guard. Beast punching from the bottom.
Carpenter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Beast is trying to get back to full guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Carpenter in particular looking to stall. Beast is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like Carpenter is going to stand back up.
Beast is trying to maintain the position but Carpenter is very close to passing his half guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Carpenter stalling. Carpenter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Mike Carpenter just wasn't active enough. Carpenter feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Carpenter engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Beast preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Carpenter is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Carpenter stands and throws Beast's legs to the side, diving into side control. Carpenter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carpenter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carpenter is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Beast's shoulder. That is not cool. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Carpenter dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Beast shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carpenter pinned against the cage. Carpenter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Beast fails with a takedown attempt. Beast tries to clinch there but Carpenter circles away.
Carpenter throws a leg kick and Beast counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Carpenter closes this distance looking for a takedown but Beast circles away. Carpenter connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Beast shoots and misses and Carpenter counters with a left to the body. Mike Carpenter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Absolute Beast. Carpenter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Beast manages to avoid it. Beast checks the leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beast misses with a takedown and Carpenter counters with a nice double leg into guard. Beast is breathing heavily. Carpenter is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Carpenter stays in close to Beast's body and controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Beast is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Carpenter controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Carpenter drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Beast manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Carpenter has Beast in his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Beast is looking to work some ground and pound but Carpenter has wrist control. Beast prevents Carpenter from getting back to his feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Carpenter controlling the position. Beast throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carpenter works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Beast really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carpenter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Carpenter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Beast's guard. Beast can't keep his opponent in guard - Carpenter advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Carpenter takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carpenter frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Carpenter lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Beast hang on? Carpenter goes for an armbar but Beast turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Beast. Beast advances position into side control! Mike Carpenter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Carpenter throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. Beast working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Beast decides to stand back up. Beast steps back and let's Carpenter get back to his feet. Carpenter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Carpenter showed some decent athleticism there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ground and pound from Carpenter. Beast is trying to get back to full guard. Carpenter controlling the pace. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carpenter has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Carpenter dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Beast dips to his left and cracks Carpenter with an uppercut! Beast fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Beast darts in trying to clinch and Carpenter counters with a left and a right that stings Beast. Carpenter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Carpenter is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Nice strikes from Carpenter there. Carpenter stands up and beckons Beast to join him on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carpenter tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Beast manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Beast misses with a body shot.
Beast closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Beast lands in his opponent's guard. Beast takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Carpenter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Beast wants to control but Carpenter is keeping busy.
Carpenter seems to be working for a kimura but Beast defends the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well, if Carpenter is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mike Carpenter wasn't doing enough on the ground. Carpenter closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Beast did well to prevent Carpenter getting side control. Beast wants to control but Carpenter is keeping busy.
Beast is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Carpenter pulls his head out easily. Carpenter working the head and body with strikes. Carpenter working over Beast with some ground and pound. Beast looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carpenter moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Beast. Carpenter controlling the position. Carpenter is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Beast is trying to escape and Carpenter transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Beast is forced to tap! Nice work there by Carpenter! Very nice indeed!
