0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Polly Italiano I I I! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tillman looks for a takedown but Italiano I I I sprawls well. Italiano I I I displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tillman. Tillman tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Tillman shoots in and gets a takedown into Italiano I I I's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Italiano I I I controls Tillman momentarily but Tillman frees himself. Italiano I I I is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Tillman lands a couple of digs. Tillman postures up.
Tillman stands up over Italiano I I I, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Tillman has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Tillman stops Italiano I I I from standing up. Tillman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Italiano I I I on the ground. Italiano I I I looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Italiano I I I is trying to control the position but Tillman postures up. Tillman wants to stand but Italiano I I I is controlling his posture from full guard. Tillman trying to control but Italiano I I I is working from the bottom. Tillman sitting in guard, not really doing much. Italiano I I I looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Italiano I I I looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tillman is one step ahead there.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Hugh Tillman wasn't doing enough on the ground. Italiano I I I shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Tillman wants to get back to full guard but Italiano I I I has mounted him! Tillman wants to hold on but Italiano I I I pushes him away. Italiano I I I can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tillman is looking to escape. Italiano I I I looking to finish with strikes here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tillman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Italiano I I I throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Tillman really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Italiano I I I controlling his opponent. Tillman wants to hold on but Italiano I I I pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Italiano I I I controlling from mount. Italiano I I I throwing strikes here but Tillman is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Italiano I I I tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Italiano I I I trying to control but he's not successful this time. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Tillman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Polly Italiano I I I will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Italiano I I I fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tillman to the ground. Italiano I I I is now in Tillman's guard. Italiano I I I sitting in guard here, content to control. Italiano I I I trying to control the position from guard on top but Tillman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Polly Italiano I I I. Tillman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Italiano I I I. Tillman blocks a head kick by Italiano I I I.
Tillman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Italiano I I I was covering up waiting for the punch and Tillman finishes the takedown easily into guard. Tillman controls from within his opponent's guard. Tillman trying to control the position from guard on top but Italiano I I I is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tillman's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tillman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Italiano I I I swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Hugh Tillman wasn't doing enough on the ground. Tillman tries a head kick but it misses.
Italiano I I I throws a body punch but Tillman moves out of range. Italiano I I I changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tillman tries to avoid it but Italiano I I I manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tillman to the ground. Tillman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Italiano I I I shoots in and drives through. Tillman sprawls well. Hugh Tillman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Polly Italiano I I I. Tillman shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Italiano I I I wants to get back to full guard. Italiano I I I is breathing heavily. Tillman tries to pass the half guard into mount. Italiano I I I knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tillman uses his free foot to push down on Italiano I I I's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Italiano I I I. Italiano I I I tries to lock up and control but Tillman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Tillman controlling the pace for now. Italiano I I I is trying to reverse the position but instead Tillman has taken his back - oops!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Italiano I I I trying to get back to his feet but Tillman is in full control for now. Italiano I I I breaks Tillman's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Italiano I I I trying to control the position from guard on top but Tillman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Italiano I I I would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Tillman looking to control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tillman wants to sweep but no luck. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Italiano I I I has closed the distance and engaged Tillman in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Hugh Tillman will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Italiano I I I is fighting off a takedown attempt but Tillman is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Italiano I I I to the mat. Italiano I I I regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Italiano I I I working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Tillman. Italiano I I I controls Tillman momentarily but Tillman frees himself. Italiano I I I is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Italiano I I I is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Italiano I I I takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Italiano I I I keeping full guard, as Tillman tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Italiano I I I being controlled here, momentarily. Tillman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Italiano I I I swivels though and keeps the full guard. Italiano I I I throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.

We're going to have a standup here because Hugh Tillman wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Tillman showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Italiano I I I.
Italiano I I I fails to land the takedown. Italiano I I I tries to clinch but Tillman is having none of it. Italiano I I I tries for a takedown but Tillman circles away easily and Tillman counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Hugh Tillman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Polly Italiano I I I. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tillman not doing much here.

Tillman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Italiano I I I is trying to get back to full guard. Italiano I I I is looking to escape. Tillman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Italiano I I I is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Tillman tries to stand and escape but Italiano I I I is controlling the position. Tillman is taking a breather. Italiano I I I says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Tillman lands with a punch from half guard. Tillman wants to take a breather but Italiano I I I is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Italiano I I I is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Tillman scores with a couple of nice shots. Tillman prevents Italiano I I I from improving his position.
And that's the end of the fight! Hugh Tillman showed his dominance in that final round. I think Tillman has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
