Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Millar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Miura Guts!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Guts is predictable there
and Millar counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Millar drives through and clinches with Guts against the cage.
Millar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Guts is looking to take this one to the mat.
Millar prevents Guts from breaking the clinch.
Guts wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Guts blocks the elbow strike.
Millar wants to break the clinch but can't.
Millar drags the fight down to the ground.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Millar keeping moving, preventing Guts from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Guts drops back looking for a leg! Millar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Millar manages to kick Guts off! Guts jumps back into Millar's guard.
Millar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Guts advances to half guard.
Guts in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Millar tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Guts!
