Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sho Shinjo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Stout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shinjo comes to the cage accompanied by Theme of Sho. Stout is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Disturbed - Criminal. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sho Shinjo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
30 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sam Stout! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A good leg kick by Shinjo. Stout has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Stout checks a leg kick nicely. Stout scores with a sloppy right hand. Shinjo should have avoided that one. Stout moves out of range as Shinjo strikes. Shinjo misses with an uppercut
and Stout counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Shinjo thinking. Stout shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Shinjo throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Stout.
It looks like Sam Stout has been cut. Stout pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shinjo throws a head kick that misses and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Shinjo delivers a nice body kick. Shinjo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stout moves away. Shinjo lands a jab to Stout's midsection. Shinjo wants to clinch. Nice body kick from Shinjo. Sam Stout is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stout looks to land a left hand but Shinjo moved out of range nicely. Sho Shinjo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stout blocks a low kick nicely. Shinjo looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Shinjo. Shinjo throws a nice inside leg kick. Shinjo looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Stout utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Stout looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Shinjo scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Shinjo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shinjo wants to control from the top but Stout keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shinjo preventing the sweep. Shinjo throws an elbow that misses. Stout uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Shinjo's guard. Nice move by Stout! Stout wants to control from the top but Shinjo keeps moving. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shinjo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Shinjo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stout stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shinjo swivels though and keeps the full guard. Stout trying to control the position from guard on top but Shinjo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shinjo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Stout pushes down on Shinjo's leg and manages to get into half guard. Shinjo moves into full guard.
Shinjo tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stout sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Shinjo's guard. Shinjo is looking to improve his position.
Shinjo gets full guard. Stout avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Stout preventing the sweep. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shinjo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sho Shinjo dominated that round. The cut man is working on Sam Stout's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Shinjo lands a really nice looking cross but Stout seems unphased.
Shinjo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stout was covering up waiting for the punch and Shinjo finishes the takedown easily into guard. Shinjo looking to sit in guard and control but Stout gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Shinjo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sho Shinjo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Shinjo looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Stout trying to control the position from guard on top but Shinjo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shinjo has his foot on Stout's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stout works his way back into a safe position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shinjo throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Stout escapes and throws Shinjo's legs to the side, diving into side control! A lull in the action here. Shinjo manages to work his way to half guard, despite Stout's best efforts. Shinjo tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Still in half guard, Stout seems content to control. Shinjo tries to get to full guard but Stout has control of the leg. Shinjo regains full guard. Nicely done. Shinjo is trying to control the position but Stout postures up. Stout sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shinjo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Stout! Stout regains half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shinjo missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Shinjo missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Stout won't allow Shinjo to pass to mount. Shinjo sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Stout defending well though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shinjo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Stout is in trouble now - Shinjo has advanced to mount! Shinjo goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Stout turns into him and now he's in Shinjo's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stout slips nicely into half guard. Shinjo is not content to let Stout control the position. Shinjo is trying to get back to full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Shinjo is looking to control Stout's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shinjo avoid being mounted? Shinjo is looking for a sweep. Stout is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sho Shinjo dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Sam Stout's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!
Shinjo checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Shinjo looks to throw a body kick and Stout counters with a low kick, right behind Shinjo 's knee. Shinjo lands an overhand right. Shinjo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Stout checks a leg kick. Sho Shinjo is winning the standup battle so far. A leg kick checked by Stout. Shinjo scores with a body shot.
Shinjo wants to clinch. Shinjo misses with a shot to the body and Stout cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Stout attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Stout will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Stout lands a nice looking body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stout bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Stout checks a leg kick. Shinjo takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Shinjo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Shinjo shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Stout thows a leg kick but Shinjo checks it and Shinjo counters with a slapping leg kick. Stout takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Shinjo lands with a nice body punch. Stout throws a push kick but Shinjo slaps the foot to one side. Nice shot by Stout. Stout chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Shinjo can pounce on him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shinjo looks to land a combination but Stout avoids it well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Shinjo misses with a looping left. Shinjo throws a series of strikes that have Stout backpedaling.
Stout misses with an uppercut. Stout avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Stout throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Stout tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Shinjo misses with a body kick. Shinjo shoots in for a double leg but Stout sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Shinjo connects with a leg kick. Stout looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Horrible takedown by Shinjo or perhaps it was just good defense by Stout which made him look bad. Sho Shinjo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shinjo throws a front kick that sends Stout stumbling back into the cage. Shinjo takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Stout jabs at Shinjo's body. Sam Stout has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Shinjo looks for the body kick but Stout saw that one coming. Shinjo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Stout lands a big head kick that sends Shinjo tumbling to the mat! Stout takes a step backwards and waves Shinjo back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Shinjo is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shinjo throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Oh Shinjo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Crunch! Shinjo slams his shin into Stout's torso. A telegraphed right hand from Shinjo misses the target. Stout lands with a thumping leg kick.
Stout throws a head kick that misses. Shinjo seems to have got his legs back now. Shinjo shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stout misses with a two punch combination.
Sho Shinjo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Shinjo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Shinjo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stout but Stout pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sho Shinjo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shinjo throws a nice inside leg kick. Shinjo lands a nice leg kick that just misses Stout's sensitive parts. A big right from Shinjo misses. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Shinjo connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Stout keeps Shinjo at a distance using the push kick. Shinjo looks to land a left hand but Stout moved out of range nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Sam Stout comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Shinjo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
