Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenichi Shirahama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Rook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Shirahama might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Fade To Black. Rook has chosen Mr Krinkle as his entrance music. Kenichi Shirahama is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenichi Shirahama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yuri Rook!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rook fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Shirahama to the ground. Rook is now in Shirahama's guard.
Rook stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shirahama swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rook is still trying to improve position.
Rook is looking to work some ground and pound but Shirahama has wrist control.
Rook wants to control from the top but Shirahama keeps moving.
Rook passes into half guard.

Rook is working for a submission of some sort.

Rook is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rook is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Shirahama defends it well.

Rook feints and as Shirahama raises his hands in defense, Rook changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Yuri Rook showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Shirahama's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Rook shoots in but Shirahama avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rook closes the distance and clinches up with Shirahama, looking for a takedown. Rook pushes Shirahama against the cage but Shirahama circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rook doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Shirahama counters with a slapping leg kick.
Kenichi Shirahama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yuri Rook.

Rook shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shirahama but Shirahama pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Shirahama keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Shirahama lands a nice short elbow.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Yuri Rook has been cut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kenichi Shirahama showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Rook has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
