Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sterling Elliott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Bridson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sterling Elliott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Bridson! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Elliott tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bridson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Elliott shoots in looking for a takedown. Bridson tries to sprawl out of it but Elliott keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bridson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. The fight moves into the clinch position. Elliott throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Bridson blocks it with crossed arms. Bridson tries for a takedown. No joy.
Elliott is looking to break free of the clinch but Bridson has double underhooks. Elliott tries to pull guard but Bridson won't allow it.
Bridson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Elliott is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bridson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sterling Elliott. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bridson with a poor takedown and Elliott cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Nice shot lands for Bridson. Bridson throws a nice outside leg kick. Bridson throws a combination. Elliott tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
That's one minute gone in the round. Elliott tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bridson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Bridson tries for a takedown but Elliott sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Bridson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Elliott's sensitive parts. Elliott is breathing heavily. Bridson pushes Elliott up against the cage in a clinch. Bridson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Elliott tries for a takedown but Bridson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Elliott could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Bridson rushes Elliott and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Elliott trying to control the position but instead, Bridson has worked for underhooks and has pushed Elliott into the cage. Bridson jumps into guard, dragging Elliott to the mat.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bridson is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Elliott keeping moving, preventing Bridson from controlling successfully. Bridson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Bridson is looking to stand up but Elliott won't let him. Bridson preventing the sweep. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bridson is looking to work some ground and pound but Elliott has wrist control. Bridson pushes down on Elliott's leg and manages to get into half guard. Bridson trying to control from half guard but Elliott is working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bridson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bridson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Elliott keeps working. Bridson wants to stand up but Elliott is controlling the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Bridson is trying to work for a kimura but Elliott is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bridson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bridson is trying to control the action in half guard but Elliott is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Bridson dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Bridson closes the distance and clinches up with Elliott, looking for a takedown. Bridson pushes Elliott against the cage but Elliott circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Elliott fails with a takedown attempt. Bridson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bridson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Elliott's calf. Bridson darts in looking for a takedown but Elliott gets double underhooks and turns Bridson into the cage. Elliott wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Bridson gets underhooks to prevent Elliott's takedown attempt.
Bridson gets control of Elliott's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bridson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Elliott trying to control the position from guard on top but Bridson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bridson wants to sweep here but Elliott controlling him for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bridson controlling Elliott's posture. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bridson wants to sweep here but Elliott controlling him for the moment. Bridson is looking to stand up but Elliott isn't so interested in that idea. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Bridson tries to strike from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Elliott shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bridson defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sterling Elliott. That's going to take a lot out of him. Elliott shoots in for a takedown but Bridson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Elliott throws a leg kick and Bridson counters with a nice body shot. Bridson shoots in looking for a takedown but Elliott manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bridson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Bridson scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bridson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Elliott sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Bridson looks for a takedown but Elliott sprawls well. Good leg kick by Elliott there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Elliott tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bridson defends well and Elliott ends up having to push Bridson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Bridson wants a takedown but no success here.

Bridson avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Bridson tries to clinch there but Elliott circles away.

Bridson changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Elliott takes a head kick and keeps coming.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Elliott. Bridson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Bridson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Elliott fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bridson avoids it really well and circles away. A punch combination from Elliott misses. Elliott fails to land the takedown. Bridson throws a head kick that half lands.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Elliott ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Elliott no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Elliott keeping moving, preventing Bridson from controlling successfully. Bridson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Elliott dives on top into guard. Elliott stands up from guard. Let's bang! Elliott rushes Bridson and presses him up against the cage. Elliott tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bridson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Elliott has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Elliott is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Bridson is looking for a takedown. Bridson can't get the takedown.
Elliott will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Bridson up against the cage. Elliott escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bridson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jake Bridson seems to be getting the better of the standup. Elliott looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Elliott tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Elliott slaps away a takedown attempt from Bridson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Elliott moves into the clinch successfully.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bridson tries to circle away but Elliott has him pinned against the cage. Sterling Elliott has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jake Bridson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Elliott tries to throw a body punch but Bridson avoids it by throwing Elliott back against the cage.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sterling Elliott. I think Bridson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
