Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bob Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carter Cohen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter Cohen will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bob Steele!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carter Cohen!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steele fails to land the takedown.
Cohen thuds his shin into the meat of Steele's side.
Steele could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Cohen looks to land a right hand but Steele moved out of range.
Steele slaps away a takedown attempt from Cohen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Steele shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cohen as he jumps to the side.
Cohen is looking to clinch.
Cohen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Cohen tries to keep at a distance but Steele has taken the fight into the clinch.
Cohen tries to break the clinch but Steele is controlling the position.
Cohen is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Steele is defending well.
Bob Steele has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carter Cohen.

Steele breaks the clinch.
Steele slaps away a takedown attempt from Cohen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Steele dives in and grabs Cohen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cohen pushes down on Steele's head and hops out.
A looping hook to the body misses from Steele. Cohen does a little dance to reset his feet.

Steele pushes Cohen up against the cage in a clinch.
Steele is trying to pull guard but Cohen turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Cohen wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Steele ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Steele no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Cohen is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Cohen throwing strikes but missing.

Cohen wants to control from the top but Steele keeps moving.
Steele striking off his back but it's not causing Cohen any problems.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Steele trying to keep a closed guard but Cohen is proving a slippery customer.
Cohen wants to pass the guard but Steele is keeping the position.

Steele wants to sweep but no luck.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Carter Cohen.
Cohen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Steele shoots in looking for a takedown but Cohen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Steele's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A telegraphed right hand from Cohen misses the target.
Cohen fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Cohen tries to clinch but Steele moves out of range.
Steele throws a right and a left that Cohen avoids nicely.
Steele changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cohen tries to avoid it but Steele manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cohen to the ground. Cohen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cohen moves in looking to clinch but Steele pushes him off.
Cohen fails with the takedown.
Cohen fails to land the takedown.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cohen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Steele but Steele pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Steele tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cohen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Steele somewhat.
Cohen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Steele stuffs the takedown.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Steele moves into range and clinches up with Cohen.
Cohen is trying to break the clinch but Steele has him pressed against the cage.
Cohen drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Steele gets the underhooks and prevents it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Carter Cohen will probably get the nod.
That's time! Steele's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Steele clinches up against the cage.
Cohen is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Cohen can't get the takedown.
Steele tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cohen smiles and moves away.
Steele throws a half hearted mid kick.
Cohen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Steele.
Cohen tries to clinch there but Steele circles away.
Cohen is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Steele really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Cohen doesn't manage to clinch there - Steele circles away.
Cohen moves to clinch but Steele breaks away
and Steele counters with a left and a right that stings Cohen.
Cohen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Steele defends it nicely.
Steele shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cohen but Cohen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Steele. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cohen stuffs the takedown.

Cohen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cohen lands in his opponent's guard.

Steele can't keep his opponent in guard - Cohen advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Steele keeping control of the position.
Steele knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cohen on the ground.
Cohen is trying to control. Steele wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cohen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Cohen decides to stand up.
Steele moves in looking to clinch but Cohen pushes him off.

Cohen scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Steele doesn't seem bothered though.
Cohen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Steele swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Steele throws a wild body kick that Cohen sees coming a mile off.
Cohen fails with a takedown attempt.
Steele displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cohen.
Steele tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cohen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Steele somewhat.
Cohen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Steele moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bob Steele is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Steele swats away the attempt to clinch by Cohen.

Steele has a takedown stuffed.
Cohen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Steele as he avoids it easily.
Steele circles away from the clinch attempt
and Steele counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Cohen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Steele sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Cohen is breathing heavily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Steele fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Carter Cohen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Steele connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Steele gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Cohen is trying to push Steele away but Steele has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Cohen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Steele stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Steele wants it to stay on the feet.
Cohen lands a body shot.
Cohen looks for a takedown but Steele sprawls well.
Cohen dives in for a single leg takedown but Steele sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Steele breaks from the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cohen is defended easily by Steele.

Steele fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cohen, pushing him back against the cage.
Cohen tries to circle away but Steele has him pinned against the cage.

Cohen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Steele smiles and moves away.

and Steele counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Steele decides to pull guard.
Steele trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Steele looking for a sweep. Not yet Steele, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cohen throwing strikes but missing.

Cohen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Steele is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cohen, into his guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cohen wants to sweep here but Steele controlling him for the moment.

Cohen is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Steele is aware though and is defending well.
Cohen is trying to control the position but Steele postures up.
Cohen throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Cohen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cohen wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Steele is now in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well, if Steele is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bob Steele.
I think Cohen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
