The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Suggs. Those never looked like landing.
Byrd will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Byrd shoots and misses
and Suggs counters with a low kick, right behind Byrd 's knee.
Byrd fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Suggs manages to avoid it.
A big right from Suggs misses.
Suggs dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Byrd shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Byrd takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Byrd. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Decent striking displayed by Suggs there.
Suggs cracks Byrd with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Suggs has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Byrd to stand back up!
Byrd is rocked!

Byrd misses with a takedown attempt
and Suggs counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
