And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fransuave Doobney!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Doobney clinches with his opponent.

McKallister breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McKallister lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
McKallister lands a nice leg kick that just misses Doobney's sensitive parts.
We've been told by McKallister's head coaches at Victory that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A chopping leg kick lands by McKallister.

Doobney throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McKallister tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Doobney is in McKallister's guard.
Doobney is working McKallister over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Doobney sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McKallister's guard.
McKallister is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Doobney scores with a couple of nice shots.
Doobney has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
McKallister is not content to let Doobney control the position.
Doobney takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Doobney seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Fransuave Doobney was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Doobney darts in looking for a takedown but McKallister gets double underhooks and turns Doobney into the cage.
Doobney jumps guard but McKallister turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Doobney on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
McKallister darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Doobney shoots in looking for a takedown but McKallister manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Doobney's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Doobney closes the distance and clinches up with McKallister, looking for a takedown. Doobney pushes McKallister against the cage but McKallister circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Doobney shoots for a takedown but McKallister saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by McKallister.
McKallister cracks the inside of Doobney's front leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Pete McKallister will probably get the nod.
That's time! McKallister's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

McKallister is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
McKallister lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by McKallister.
That kick from McKallister tenderised Doobney's leg. Doobney is trying to keep his angry face on.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Horrible takedown by Doobney or perhaps it was just good defense by McKallister which made him look bad.

Doobney tries to close the distance and clinch but McKallister swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fransuave Doobney has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Doobney sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for McKallister, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
