Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dan Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oguzhan Baysal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Oguzhan Baysal!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baysal tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Severn manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Baysal fails with a takedown attempt.

and Severn counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Severn closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Severn lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Severn postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Baysal is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Baysal wants to stand but Severn is controlling the position.

Baysal is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Severn defends well.
Severn won't allow Baysal to sweep him here.

Baysal had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Severn defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Severn's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dan Severn.

Severn shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Severn showed some decent athleticism there.

Baysal on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Baysal is trying to maintain the position but Severn is very close to passing his half guard.

Severn slows the pace down in half guard.
Baysal wants to control but Severn is keeping busy and won't allow it.

We're going to have a standup here because Dan Severn wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Severn scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Baysal is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Severn thows a leg kick but Baysal checks it
and Baysal counters with a big head kick but Severn shrugs it off.
Baysal is still on wobbly legs! Can Severn finish him?

Severn keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Baysal seems to have recovered his senses.
Dan Severn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oguzhan Baysal.

Baysal has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Severn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Severn seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Severn manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Baysal on his heels. He'll look to pass Baysal's guard now, I'm sure.

Baysal is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dan Severn has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Severn feints a jab promting Baysal to slip. Severn then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Baysal slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Severn is staying tight to Baysal's torso, preventing him from escaping.

That's time! Severn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Severn lunges at Baysal with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Baysal's hand.

Severn shoots in and bounces Baysal off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Baysal has his foot on Severn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Severn works his way back into a safe position though.

Baysal has momentary wrist control but Severn slips an elbow through the middle.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Severn is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Baysal is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Severn is aware though and is defending well.

Severn seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Baysal for as long as he can get away with.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
