7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Bzdunek! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brabo Garcia! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jab from Bzdunek. Bzdunek scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Garcia ducks straight into an uppercut from Bzdunek and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Garcia manages to regain guard straight away.
Garcia is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Bzdunek is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Garcia is still in real trouble! Can Bzdunek finish him? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bzdunek thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Garcia seems to have recovered his senses. Garcia is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Garcia keeping moving, preventing Bzdunek from controlling successfully. Bzdunek is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at The Garcia Grappling Academy - Rio that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Garcia escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bzdunek gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Garcia avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Bzdunek wants to pass the guard but Garcia is keeping the position. Garcia not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bzdunek drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bzdunek jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Garcia looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Bzdunek drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Garcia manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bzdunek has Garcia in his guard. Bzdunek is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Garcia is aware though and is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garcia wants to control from the top but Bzdunek keeps moving. Garcia pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bzdunek is keeping the position for now. Bzdunek escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Garcia gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Garcia forces his way into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bzdunek looking for submissions off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia stalling away here and it's allowed Bzdunek to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Garcia trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bzdunek is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Garcia looking to sit in guard and control but Bzdunek gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Bzdunek got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garcia has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bzdunek has managed to get both his arms back between Garcia's legs - danger averted. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bzdunek has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Garcia is proving hard to escape from.

Bzdunek got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garcia has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! A jab from Bzdunek finds it's way through Garcia's defenses. Garcia feints and then cracks Bzdunek's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bzdunek down. Bzdunek misses with a wild body shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Garcia throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bzdunek escapes and throws Garcia's legs to the side, diving into side control! Bzdunek is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Garcia is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Bzdunek tries for a kimura but Garcia is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Garcia's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Bzdunek tries to advance to mount but can't. Garcia gets back to half guard. Bzdunek is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Garcia has managed to free his arm - good work. Garcia is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Bzdunek has latched onto it... Big trouble! Bzdunek pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Garcia is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Bzdunek!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). John Bzdunek! John Bzdunek decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
