The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaarlandt gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Satriani counters with a stiff right hand.
Satriani manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gaarlandt on his heels. He'll look to pass Gaarlandt's guard now, I'm sure.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Gaarlandt has a closed guard, preventing Satriani from standing up.
Gaarlandt has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Satriani should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Gaarlandt has tightened it up now! Satriani should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
