Alvarez comes to the cage accompanied by Flor Rida. Polish comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Ice Cube Today was a Good Day kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Chad Alvarez has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chad Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Polish!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez misses with a takedown attempt
and Polish counters with a three punch combo that has Alvarez backing up. Alvarez nods at Polish to acknowledge the strikes.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Alvarez.

Alvarez shoots in looking for a takedown but Polish manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Alvarez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Alvarez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Polish was covering up waiting for the punch and Alvarez finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Alvarez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Polish tries to avoid it but Alvarez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Polish to the ground. Polish escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Alvarez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Polish's waist but Polish gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alvarez off to one side.

Polish is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

James Polish showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Alvarez has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Polish escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Polish!

I've got Polish winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
